Now, you might not think Scott Baio actually appears on this Al Jaffee cover for MAD #258 (October '85), but take a closer look at the bottom right-hand corner... By the time MAD #258 came out, Scott Baio was a year removed from wrapping up work on Happy Days and had already seen his follow-up series Charles In Charge cancelled after one season. I'm still at a loss to figure out why Scott Baio is pitching Hello Larry - The Movie instead of Joanie Loves Chachi - The Movie to mid-'90s U.S. Presidential wanna-be Steve Forbes. Than Run For President," written by Andrew Schwartzberg and illustrated by Rick Tulka for MAD #350 (October '96), is the last known appearance of Scott Baio in MAD. Scott Baio and Brooke Shields try to find true love, each other and a decent script in this portion of "MAD's 'TV Exploitation Movie' Producer of the Year." Written by Stan Hart and illustrated by Angelo Torres, it originally ran in the entirely-original-material MAD '84 Super Special and is still one of the my favourite MAD pieces of the entire '80s.
