More about:

Einat Peled is an Israeli artist and editorial illustrator who contributed to the Israeli edition of MAD Magazine over 30 years ago. Although she has never considered herself a traditional comic artist or cartoonist, she became involved with the publication through her connections with Yirmi Pinkus and Rutu Modan, whom she had studied alongside at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design a few years prior.

For her contribution to MAD, Peled illustrated a cover featuring Dan Shilon, a well-known Israeli media personality and television host. She took on this assignment during her early days as an illustrator, noting that even at the time, the comic-style drawing was very different from her usual illustration work.

Reflecting on the Israeli edition of MAD, Peled remembers it as a highly unique project created by a group of exceptionally talented individuals—many of whom have since become renowned comic artists, illustrators, and authors both in Israel and internationally.

Today, Peled's artistic focus remains very different from her early work with MAD. Because her contribution was a brief departure from her standard style over three decades ago, she prefers to let the artwork speak for itself rather than including a personal photo from that era.
