The main picture is a spoof on a scoop by one to the leading evening papers in Sweden as portrayed by Anders Ferm. In 1989 the hunt for PM Olof Palme's shooter was still in full swing, but the people performing the investigation bungled it quite badly from the beginning and were grasping at straws. One of the leads was "33-åringen" (the 33-year-old), but it proved to be dead-end – as was the "PKK-spåret" (The PKK-lead), "Sydafrikaspåret" (the South Africa lead) and numerous others. The reason it says "30-åringen" (the 30-year-old) on the cap is that this is Swedish MAD's 30th year in existence.
Olof Palme was killed in 1986 while walking home from a night at the movies. This was the winter when Sweden lost its innocence. The following crime investigation (where the quality of entertainment at times was right up there with the Keystone Cops) was Swedish Police force's biggest failure to date. When no culprit was found, it eventually became a cold case.
