Andrew's MAD fascination began as a child as most Illustrators and writers, but when he was about 19 he thought he would send some uncommissioned art work to MAD Magazine Australia asking for some work. Andrew sent a painting of the movie Ghost with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. MAD magazine called him up and asked if he could write. Of course he said yes.
Andrew's first work was for an Australian TV show called Chances which was garbage and he lampooned it pretty easily. More work came and he did satire of Dinosaurs as well as Aliens 3. He also did some one off spreads lampooning various Australian celebrities. Andrew did a front page for MAD for Dinosaurs which he was pretty chuffed to get.
