Born in Luton, Bedfordshire, David Stoten moved on from British MAD to be a key caricaturist on TV's Spitting Image, Newzoids and others. Together with long-time collaborator, Tim Watts, he lifted a BAFTA award in 1994 for directing and producing an animated short, The Big Story. Stoten has provided storyboards for Corpse Bride, Mr Bean's Holiday and others. He has recently directed Thomas & Friends and is an ongoing contributor to The Oldie magazine.
