Alfred being a part of a traditional Swedish Christmas feast by Bowen. When Sweden still largely was an economy based on domestic production, Christmas food was made from a farm's own stock. In a custom retained from the vikings a pig was slaughtered before Christmas and almost everything on the animal was used for food. One of the prominent delicacies/displays on a feast table was a grilled and decorated pig's head. with an apple stuck in its mouth. Although this is the Christmas dinner that comes to most boomers and some X-gens mind, pig's heads hasn't been on the menu since before WWI.
