And as it seems the newest issue in my collection with a cover by Thomas Göransson. This cover is a play on words, but is still somewhat confusing and contradictory. The word is "Svampgummi" ( = sponge rubber) and the joke is completely lost in translation. For anyone but Nordic readers it may seem weird that a bunch of toadstool children with Alfred DNA is picking chanterelles and other mushrooms covered in prophylactics. But, hey – it’s MAD magazine and the editors thrive on this kind of stuff.
