The height of the Cabbage Patch fad, here turned around by Anders Ferm to make Alfred dolls instead. The border was a celebration to Swedish MAD for hanging around for a quarter of a century and was found on every issue between 10/83 to 10/84, where the first issue in the series showed an Alfred in gift wrapping. The reason why this didn't coincide with the first number of the year, is that issue 1/70 was released in October and the length of the celebration had to be tweaked accordingly
