Alfred is making himself look and smell pretty before a mirror that seems to show the future in this cover by Torvald Sundbaum. It's 1977 and in the real world scientists have already seen a link between changes in the ozone layer and an excessive use of aerosols. Now to convince politicians and industry leaders that changes has to be made. Unfortunately this is like trying to turn a super tanker about: slow and laborious. The back cover also mirrors this; "Before/Facing a breathless world". I'm not sure about the origin, but suspect that it has been lifted from US or GB MAD and translated.
