Produced in the 1910's(?) for the New York Dental Parlors, this item is a ceramic mug featuring an early image of Alfred E. Neuman. This image, along with the quote, "It Didn't Hurt A Bit", also appeared on other pieces of pre-MAD memorabilia like, postcards, trade cards, and calendars. For being over 100 years old, this mug is in beautiful display condition, but it does have a few tiny cracks and dings, some crazing, a few light scratches, and some of the gold paint has been rubbed off of both the top and bottom trim. But, it is very rare, with less than ten (10) known to exist.
