The Beatles had been on tour in Sweden and of course MAD magazine wanted to report this in their own way. Here they are immortalised by Bowen in the style of Jenny Nyström.
Jenny Nyström (1854 – 1946) was a Swedish artist and illustrator most known for her Christmas-themed post cards. She started out as painter but after she was asked to illustrate a story by Victor Rydberg (1828 – 1895, author, poet, journalist), she did it in the style that would become her trademark.
Oh, BTW; The strangely shaped gift Alfred the Elf holds is a pair of scissors -- if you were wondering. Please, get your mind out of the gutter...
