Greek MAD

The Greek / Greece MAD Magazine existed for 2 editions. The first edition was more or less successful in Greece and lasted for 5 years. Various MAD specials and three paperbacks were published in this time. The translators tried to transform American jokes and humor into the Greek language.

The second edition lasted only for two years. Unlike the first edition, the second one tried to produce real Greek humor with own artists and writers. MAD stopped again publishing in 1998, because the Greek MAD lost their license to publish MAD in Greece. The reason was that the latest issue was not compatible to the spirit of the American original version.
