- Virgil Franklin Partch (1916-1984) was born in Alaska. He got a job at the Disney Studios. But after taking part in the Disney Studio strike in 1941, he was fired. Trough the 1940s and the 1950s, he was know as Americas zaniest magazine cartoonists. He created 'Big George'(George, der Montagsmuffel) in 1960 for North America Syndicate. He sign his cartoons always with "Vip". Partch died 1984, in a car accident.
