David Robinson has been a free-lance writer and illustrator since leaving school in 1966 (in addition to a 9 to 5 career in IT and advertising). His art and writing, including comic strips, has appeared both locally and nationally in the music, sports trade, and corporate presses, including NME (Xmas 1971) and a regular weekly strip in Computer Talk for five years around 1980, plus children’s comics. In 1978 he helped to launch the Association of Comics Enthusiasts, which produced the British Comics Encyclopaedia, a private partwork which ran for 14 years (more, with reprints). Robinson has also provided humorous art for various corporate campaigns and has more recently written for internet websites. Now in retirement, he still ‘keeps his hand in’ with articles in the nostalgia magazine press.
