Comment by Tom Smith:

When this came out, I was surprised to see that Cracked was trying a new special edition. As you can see by the subtitle, it was supposed to be a humor magazine for sci-fi fans, but it wasn't successful. I wasn't interested since I didn't care about sci-fi, and I guess sci-fi fans aren't much into humor. Perhaps it's because they take their sci-fi so seriously, I don't know (many of them way too seriously as we have seen displayed with Trekkies).

Out of all the official Cracked special editions (not counting For Monsters Only), this is the one I had the least interest in, and by all accounts, it was a very poor seller.

I have purchased a couple of the issues, and the one thing I like about it is the plethora of new material. I found a few articles to enjoy, mostly those with a generic sci-fi theme, rather than parodies of sci-fi shows I find dull. Still, it's only for fans of sci-fi and humor magazines, and they likely isn't much overlap between those groups, hence its failure.

One can only assume this magazine was the brainchild of Mr. Rosenbloom who is likely a huge sci-fi fan, going by the sheer number of articles on the subject in '90's Cracked (and sports as well).

This issue sports a pretty good old-fashioned type Cracked cover.
